Pinatapi Ivatan Gold Earrings
Ready to shine this season? The Pinatapi Ivatan Gold Earrings are here to add a pop of festive charm and cultural richness to your look! These lightweight, flat crescent hoops are a stunning celebration of Filipino craftsmanship, inspired by the Ivatan people from the northernmost tip of the Philippines.
While the story behind the Pinatapi remains a mystery, the beautifully engraved patterns are a captivating touch - perfect for a holiday soirée or a casual day out! Wear them with pride and celebrate a touch of Filipino tradition wherever you go! 🌟🎉
Each piece from our Ivatan collection is modelled after traditional Ivatan designs, passed on through inheritance across generations. Currently, only one artisan remains who knows how to make jewelry based on traditional Ivatan designs. He crafted these pieces for you ❤️
About the Craftmanship: The artistry of gold filigree craftsmanship has been practiced by native plateros for centuries. The platero begins by melting blocks of gold or silver, repeatedly hammering and cooling them until they become fine and delicate threads. The threads are carefully shaped by hand into "kalado" or lace-like patterns inspired by nature. To craft more intricate pieces, the platero individually welds small drops together to form beautiful heirlooms.
- Handcrafted by Filipino artisans in Batanes using the rare art of gold filigree, a pre-Hispanic indigenous technique
- Made of 985 pure silver dipped in 24-karat gold
- Height: 1.8cm; Width: 1.8cm
- Intended as heirloom pieces, colours will tarnish over time to develop a more antique look
- Nickel-free and lead-free, suitable for sensitive skin
